Chicago Education Equity COVID-19 Response Fund was established in April 2020 in order to address the medium and long-term challenges the education system in Chicago will face as a result of the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. These disruptions will have a deep and profound impact and will inevitably widen inequities and slow progress in Chicago’s early childhood, K-12 and postsecondary education systems, particularly for Black and Latinx students. The fund will work with education leaders, policy experts and practitioners to identify and address these inequities and new challenges on students and the education systems.
This fund is intended to complement and coordinate with the Chicago Community COVID-19 Response Fund. It will be housed at The Chicago Community Foundation, the corporate affiliate of The Chicago Community Trust.
